I started off in the business world as a finance guy.
After several years of some economic ups and downs I shifted into business development – under the assumption that the last person to be let go is the person who generates the revenue.
I eventually moved into management consulting and have stayed there ever since. I have been heavily influenced in my world view by my own inner work, my martial arts practice and how those universal principles apply to everything – particularly to the practice of business.
I believe that developing both the “inner” and “outer” skills not only lead to better organizational performance but also to more powerful experiences for individuals in the organization. It is a double benefit – people simply enjoy their time more with the organization and the organization just performs better.
Making money is required for any organization to sustain itself, however – to me those are table stakes. There is so much more to the power of an organization and the positive impact to the people in it than just mere survival.
This blog is about exploring the possibility of these ideas being a reality in the everyday experience of an organization and to do it in such a way that can be replicated by anyone who wishes to walk this path.
